This quilt was designed as the start of a series of small quilts that would be changed monthly or seasonally. I wanted the American flag to be illuminated by the fireworks. After assembly, I discovered I hadn\'t actually achieved my goal. I remembered reading a story about a young woman using LEDs in her quilts. After finding that article, I ordered a starter kit from Cheryl Sieboda (http://www.muppin.com) and made a new quilt to accommodate the lights. Now I can\'t wait to design the Halloween and Christmas quilts using lights!

Cotton and silk fabrics, cotton and metallic threads, wool batting, cotton backing, LED lights, conductive thread, sew-able battery holders.
